Understanding craft processes and fusing it with industrial design thinking to make a product. The project involves learning a particular craft, in this case metal casting and using this craft to create a product that is aesthetically appealing and has utility.
Analysis
1) Understanding different metals and their characteristics, weight, strength etc
2) Two different methods of casting metal, i.e., sand casting and lost wax casting
Based on my learning of the above, I chose to pick brass as my metal of choice because of it lustrous shine and weight.
